    "That the agenda for the February 5, 2025 Economic Development, Tourism, and Land Use Planning Committee be approved."

    "That the Economic Development, Tourism, and Land Use Planning Committee having considered the media release regarding 'Ontario Exploring New Nuclear Energy Generation in Port Hope', recommend that County Council support the correspondence and direct staff to send a letter of support to the Honourable Doug Ford (Premier of Ontario), the Honourable Stephen Lecce (Minister of Energy and Electrification), the Honourable David Piccini (Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development & MPP for Northumberland-Peterborough South), Nicolle Butcher (President and CEO of Ontario Power Generation), Canadian Association of Nuclear Host Communities (CANHC) and Northumberland County's 7 Member Municipalities."

  • Recommended Motion:

    "That the Economic Development, Tourism, and Land Use Planning Committee receive the correspondence from the Town of Kearney regarding 'Planning Act Changes - More Homes Built Faster Act, 2022 & Cutting Red Tape to Build More Homes Act, 2024' for information; and

    Further That the Committee recommend that County Council receive this correspondence for information."

  • Recommended Motion:

    "That the Economic Development, Tourism, and Land Use Planning Committee, having considered the correspondence from the Eastern Ontario Wardens' Caucus (EOWC) regarding 'Support for Fortress AM-CAN', recommend that County Council support the correspondence and direct staff to send a letter of support to the Honourable Doug Ford (Premier of Ontario), the Honourable Victor Fedeli (Minister of Economic Development, Job Creation and Trade), the Honourable David Piccini (Minister of Minister of Labour, Immigration, Training and Skills Development & MPP for Northumberland-Peterborough South), EOWC, and Northumberland County's 7 Member Municipalities."
