    "That the Community Health Committee receive the correspondence from the Haliburton, Kawartha, Pine Ridge (HKPR) District Health Unit regarding 'Bill 103, Smoke-Free Ontario Amendment Act (Vaping is not for Kids), 2023' for information; and

    Further That the Committee recommend that County Council receive this correspondence for information."

  • Recommended Motion:

    Whereas at the January 25, 2023 County Council meeting, Council directed staff to acknowledge receipt of a revised Long-Term Care Development Agreement containing funding terms inconsistent with the recently announced enhancements and request further discussion and clarification on funding eligibility by the Ministry of Long-Term Care prior to signing the Long -Term Care Development Agreement; and

    Whereas as directed by Council, staff drafted a letter addressed to the Minister of Long-Term Care on January 30, 2023, and engaged in consultations with the Minister and Ministry staff;

    Now Therefore Be It Resolved That the Community Health Committee having considered Report 2024-027 ‘Golden Plough Lodge Development Agreement’ recommend that County Council direct staff to proceed with signing the Long-Term Care Development Agreement.”

    That the Community Health Committee, having considered Report 2024-030 ‘Donation of a Decommissioned Ambulance to Habitat for Humanity Northumberland’, recommend that County Council approve the donation of one decommissioned ambulance to Habitat for Humanity Northumberland.”

  • Recommended Motion:

    "That the Community Health Committee recommend that County Council proclaim the month of March 2024 as ‘Amyloidosis Awareness Month' in Northumberland County, at the March 20, 2024 County Council meeting."

  • Recommended Motion:

    "That the Community Health Committee receive the minutes from the November 16, 2023, December 7, 2023, January 18, 2024 and February 5, 2024 HKPR District Health Unit Board of Health Meetings for information; and

    Further That the Committee receive the November 16, 2023, December 7, 2023 and January 18, 2024 HKPR District Health Unit Summary Reports for information; and

    Further That the Committee recommend that County Council receive the HKPR District Health Unit minutes and Summary Reports for information."
