  • Recommended Motion:

    "That the agenda for the September 5, 2024 Public Works Committee be approved."

    "That the Public Works Committee, having considered the correspondence from the Municipality of Trent Hills regarding 'Request for Safety Improvement at Intersection of County Road 29 and County Road 30', recommend that County Council direct staff to include a review of the intersection in the Transportation Master Plan update in 2025, including traffic signal warrants and review of collision data that will provide recommendations, ranking, and proposed timing for improvements compared to other County Road intersections; and

    Further That the Public Works Committee recommend that County Council direct staff to forward the resolution and available Motor Vehicle Collison (MVC) data to the OPP for enforcement of Highway Traffic Act offenses that may be contributing to the safety concerns brought forward by the Municipality of Trent Hills."

    "That the Public Works Committee receive the presentation regarding the Public Works Department's 2025 to 2026 Budget Issue Papers for information; and 

    Further That the Committee recommend that County Council receive the PowerPoint presentation for information."

    That the Public Works Committee, having considered the Report 2024-115 ‘Consolidated Speed Limit By-law 2024 Update’, recommend that County Council enact a by-law at the September 18, 2024 County Council meeting to amend By-Law 22-2022, being a by-law To Prescribe the Maximum Rate of Speed for Highways Under the Jurisdiction of the County of Northumberland, in order to update the maximum rate of speed on County Roads.”

    That the Public Works Committee recommend that County Council proclaim the following list of proclamations at the September 18, 2024 County Council meeting:

    • 'Rail Safety Week' - September 23 to 29, 2024; and
    • 'Ontario Agriculture Week' - October 6 to 12, 2024."
